Sam's journey is a testament to resilience and hope. Orphaned at the tender age of nine in Nairobi, he faced challenges that would have overwhelmed many. Yet, amid the struggles of street life, he became a beacon of strength for his younger siblings, ensuring they received an education and a fighting chance for a better future.
Despite the hardships, Sam never lost sight of his dreams. He worked relentlessly, ultimately achieving a diploma in airport operations, a remarkable feat that many would consider impossible for a street boy. However, it was his turbulent early life and the Christ-centered faith his parents ingrained in him that instilled a deeper passion—the desire to uplift and empower other young people navigating the complexities of street life. While many shy away from these youths due to their struggles, Sam sees boundless potential for transformation. He engages with them, forms groups, facilitates discipleship and life-skills classes to offer an imagination and realization of life beyond poverty in the streets. In 2021, during a pivotal AIM training conference in Bungoma, Kenya, Sam was discovered and adopted into AIM to free him from his work in slum jobs to support himself and his ministry.
Essential life skills and rehabilitation
Our mission extends beyond evangelism; it’s about offering hope and a fresh start. We guide those who've lost their way back to God’s original plan. Our rehabilitation model encompasses Biblical teachings and essential life skills such as conflict management, self-esteem building, and drug addiction recovery and awareness. We’re creating a life skills manual to unify these teachings. For those ready to embrace change, we collaborate with technical colleges to provide training in sustainable skills like tailoring, electrical installation, and computer studies.
Feeding programs
Twice every month, we attempt to connect people and those living and working in the streets within the Kayole sub-county in Nairobi by providing meals and creating opportunities for outreach and evangelism.
Projected Rehab and Discipleship Center
We're in the planning stages of launching a rehabilitation center in a rural area, removing individuals from the harsh realities of street life to focus on recovery and discipleship. Over time, we aim to develop teams from within these groups to replicate our mission, expanding to multiple locations dedicated to healing and growth.
